National Initiatives

Colleges across the UK are partnering with local, regional and national charities and initiatives as part of the Good for Me Good for FE campaign.

Good gym recently won funding from the Innovation Fund to help support older people through befriending in the form of 6 or 12-week social visits programme.

The Chatty Café Scheme is the UK’s leading non-profit organisation tackling loneliness.

Camerados has inspired Universities and Further Education colleges to set up their own Public Living Rooms for the students, staff and visitors. From Bristol to York, Strathclyde to Dover and Derby to Norwich the Camerados movement is encouraging students to look out for each other.

The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) exists to support young adult, student and staff, mental health, fitness and wellbeing throughout the UK.

BRIT continues to deliver the annual inclusive BRIT Challenge as UK-wide feelgood fundraiser with three aims;

  • Support and improve young adult, student and staff, mental health, fitness & wellbeing and reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness

  • Deliver inspiration to young adults, and destigmatise mental health, with the support of BRIT Ambassadors

  • Raise vital funds for local, regional and national charities
